I was born in Pretoria, South Africa. After visiting a TV set at the age of 15, I realised this is where I need to be and decided to pursue a career in this industry. After some adventures, which included travelling, production work and casting, I started my professional editing career as a junior editor in Johannesburg in 2006. Since then I have edited more than 100 factual programmes, which were screened on Al Jazeera, EarthX, National Geography, Fox Crime Africa, Amazon Prime, Crime+Investigation, History Channel, PBS, Smithsonian Earth, Netflix USA, Bloomberg, e.tv, kykNET, VIA, Love Nature, SABC, Brics TV (StarSat), ENCA and Roots TV, as well as at various local and international film festivals.

I can work with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro 7, Photoshop, Da Vinci Resolve and After Effects. I received a BA in Visual Studies from the University of Pretoria in 2002, and completed my BA Honours in Film Theory and Practice at the University of Cape Town in 2005. I've also done two short courses in Video Journalism and Video Production. I'm a full member of the South African Guild of Editors (SAGE). The genres I mostly work in are Documentary, True Crime and Wildlife. I'm bilingual (Afrikaans and English) and have some knowledge of Dutch, French and German.

Other skills include copywriting, professional transcribing and subtitling, colourising vintage black & white photos, basic 2D animation, and elementary 3D modelling with SketchUp.
